MPD: NFS access music library with mount options

Post by kdeenkhoorn » May 28th, 2019, 11:16 am

Dear all,

I'm new to MPD and i have a question about the music library function.
As i have read it is possible to add a music library by adding the nfs path tot the mpd.conf
Is it possible to add mount options to this configuration line ?
Like i have my NFS server locked down on port 2049 and protocol tcp, the -o options for mount would be port=2049,proto=tcp.
What do i have to enter in the MPD config file to achieve the same ?

Thanks,

Klaas

That's not possible. MPD doesn't actually "mount" the NFS server; it uses libnfs to talk the NFS protocol in user space, without the kernel's assistance, and so the kernel's documented mount options are not applicable here. There might be similar options in libnfs (I did not check), but MPD cannot control them.

Thanks for the quick reply, will arrange something with automounter or fstab.
