Hi there, for all Archlinux users that found out, as I did this morning, that the samba db plugin was disabled in 0.22.2, I created an AUR package where the smbclient build option is enabled:
mpd-smbclient
Personally I never had any issues with it, so... yeah.
Arch MPD package with smbclient db plugin enabled

Re: Arch MPD package with smbclient db plugin enabled
The plugin will crash MPD because of this libsmbclient bug: https://bugzilla.samba.org/show_bug.cgi?id=11413 (see also https://github.com/MusicPlayerDaemon/MP ... -718044059)
Don't use it, don't enable it.

But for me it doesn't crash MPD, never has. Been using it for months. -- So I am aware it might crash someone's instance, but it's a pretty essential feature for me to spread the DB to all client MPDs. Others might feel the same way, so I provided the package. No guarantees.

That's okay, you can use it, but I don't want to get any bug reports from users of your package.

Re: Arch MPD package with smbclient db plugin enabled
That's completely understandable.
Two options:
* I can leave it online now and take it offline as soon as people start opening bug reports about it
* I can remove it now, and only use it privately.
Which do you prefer?

I added a disclaimer to the package description and on top of the comments. Maybe this will deter people from complaining upstream:
