mpd stop

Post by JoeHenley »

Running mpd 0.17.2-25 on Fedora 16. I'm using a pipe for the output, with nc (netcat) as the command in the command line. It is essentially what is used in the example mpd.conf file -- except I use my own destination and port number. It works fine in playback.

If I use mpc (or any other client) to pause mpd, mpd closes the pipe and will not reopen it without completely restarting mpd. So it really isn't pause, it's more like "shut down mpd."

In my efforts to find a solution, I see several goggle references to the same problem when using a fifo instead of a pipe.

Can you help? Is ther a work around?
