DTS-WAV files

Post by v.kostas »

Hello,
This topic is not referring to a bug, so please don't "shoot" me.
I have many DTS-WAV files which are losslessly converted to FLAC. They are played in bitperfect mode and they play always correctly.

I am struggling with the format displayed in the Client "remote" app when playing those files. I see:
* 44100:16:2 for DTS 44.1kHz file. AVR displays DTS.
* 48000:16:2 for DTS 48kHz file. AVR displays DTS.
* 48000:16:2 for DTS 24/96 file. AVR displays DTS 24/96.
I would like to find a way to display "better" info in the format currently displayed (which is correct from the MPD point of view).
Is the format stored in MPD Database? If yes, can it be manually overwritten?
Or maybe I should keep it simple from the beginning: add the real "encapsulated" format in a tag, e.g. Comment? I haven't found yet an iOS Remote app handles Comment or Sorted tags.
Thank you!

You can't overwrite the format. But you could use stickers to mark those files which you believe contain DTS encoded into standard PCM.

Thank you @max,
That's what I thought. I could make it work using comment tag (stickers is a client thing and I'd better invest on something permanent).
