I don't see your configuration. You showed two one-line snippets but I don't know if you used both at the same time or switched from one to the other - you posted just two lines without any context. But since those two lines (obviously) conflict with each others, I don't know if there's a MPD bug or if I need to explain to you how IP networking works (which has nothing to do with MPD).

Hi
I have exactly the same problem as shown in the thread. Except I have Ubuntun18.04
Here is my mpd.conf file (all other lines are commented out), which is located at /home/pablo/.mpd/
# Files and directories #######################################################
music_directory "/media/LinuxDat/iTunes/iTunes_Media/"
playlist_directory "/home/pablo/.mpd/playlists"
db_file "/home/pablo/.mpd/mpd.db"
log_file "/home/pablo/.mpd/mpd.log"
pid_file "/home/pablo/.mpd/mpd.pid"
state_file "/home/pablo/.mpd/mpdstate"
sticker_file "/home/pablo/.mpd/sticker.sql"
# General music daemon options ################################################
port "6600"
auto_update "yes"
auto_update_depth "5"
# Input ###############################################################
input {
plugin "curl"
}
# Audio Output #####################################################
audio_output {
type "pulse"
name "My Pulse Output"
}
END OF mpd.conf

Below is the output of mpd --stdout --no-daemon --verbose
config_file: loading file /home/pablo/.mpd/mpd.conf
exception: Failed to bind to '[::]:6600'
exception: nested: Failed to bind socket: Address already in use

And below is the output of mpd --version
Music Player Daemon 0.20.18

I first installed mpd as a system service and it run (after some tweaks). But I changed my mind and now I prefer to have mpd installed as a per user service. I deleted /etc/mpd.conf
Any help is welcome
