I just ripped 100+ CDs using the ripper in dbpowerAmp. I created a top-level directory called Music, with 5 subfolders named for the 5 genres of music I have,. Using the default setting/tagging structure in dbPowerAmp, ripped the albums to the appropriate genre folder.
I also included album cover artwork.
My question is: by making this directory structure, does it cause any problems in mpd? Is there a better organization that could have been used?
When I updated the music database, it didn't complain about anything, but, how do I know that it worked correctly?
I am using ncmpcpp as the local client. It *seems* to behave correctly (with the exception of when adding a song to the playlist it seems to want to add the entire album, and I have to go in and deleted all the songs I dont want in that play list (what a pain).
Need help with MPD?

You can choose any directory structure you like. That is only a matter of taste.
Local album art support is quite new to MPD (end of 2018). Some clients support download from local http server eg MPDroid.I also included album cover artwork.
