some URLs in my Playlist stop playing after some seconds

Post by schwabinger » November 11th, 2018, 3:30 pm

Hi,

I am using mpd .19.1 on my raspberry pi.

I run a playlist with about 40 internet radio station URLs (a part of the playlist is shown here).

Since a few weeks the stations marked with XXX show the following problem:

MPD starts to play the first ULR for some seconds, but then stop and the next station in the list is started automatically.

So if you do a

"mpc play 9"

it will start playing that station for some seconds, then stop and go to the next, play it for some soconds, go to the next ... till it comes to the station "radiolatina", Which then is played without any problem.

http://br-b5aktuell-live.cast.addradio. ... stream.mp3 XXX

The very strang thing is that all stations with the problem are located in Germany (US, England, Austria, Switzerland, Nigeria, Netherlands, Italy .... everything else works fine .... )

You can play all those URLs in my MACs media player, so they seem to be ok.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance,

Schwabinger

Your MPD version is outdated and unsupported. See https://www.musicpd.org/help/

Not able to reproduce with MPD 0.21.2.

@schwabinger> your XXX marked urls pointing to very low quality streams (33 kbit/s ogg and 56 kbit/s mp3).

Have a look at https://www.br.de/unternehmen/inhalt/te ... br100.html and https://www.deutschlandradio.de/unsere- ... 36.de.html

Hi Max, skidoo,

thanks for your answers.

I upgraded to 0.20.12

Now everything works fine.

@skidoo: the low quality is more than enough .... I have built my radio in an old cake box (Sacher), using an old speaker from my casette player from the late sixties ...

@Max: Thank you so much for mpd! I have been unsing it in different raspberry pi projects over the last years!

Greetings,
Schwabinger
