Post by Volodymyr » September 16th, 2018, 12:25 pm

Hi, have some simple stupid question.
1) mpd to alsa to usb 8 channel dac
2) need stereo from MPD to go to 4 channels of the dac

Manual says: put format "::2" in this cace
I do not understand how exactly and were to write this format in the file>

Right now 4 channel of DAC are giving sound uotput but in MONO, all the channels are the same, no stereo...
Pls advice.

@Volodymyr> What is your intended setup? Multiple MPDs with single audio outputs to to different (stereo) channels? Multiple MPDs audio outputs to stereo? Single MPD distributed to multiple stereo DAC channels?

Search Internet for multichannel or surround ALSA setup.
