Leaving off ends of ranges.

Discuss client development (or even MPD development if you feel so inclined), ask questions about the client libs, MPD feature requests from client developers, etc...

Leaving off ends of ranges.

Post by dugan » April 15th, 2014, 7:24 pm

In the MPD protocol, how do I leave off the end of end of a range?

If I try it in Telnet, I get this:

Code: Select all

delete "1:"
ACK [2@0] {delete} Number is negative: 1:
In the above sample, I'm trying to leave off the end of the range, as specified at: http://www.musicpd.org/doc/protocol/ch01s05.html
Some commands (e.g. delete) allow specifying a range in the form START:END (the END item is not included in the range, similar to ranges in the Python programming language). If END is omitted, then the maximum possible value is assumed
