Compiling MPD - HAS_FFMPEG not automatically defined

Discuss client development (or even MPD development if you feel so inclined), ask questions about the client libs, MPD feature requests from client developers, etc...

Compiling MPD - HAS_FFMPEG not automatically defined

Post by karamike_ » February 7th, 2017, 7:57 pm

I've succeeded in compiling mpc 0.20.4 on a Raspberry Pi.

But I also want to be able to play HLS files.

So I was going to change the fallback decoder to ffmpeg, as mentioned here, only to find:

Code: Select all

#ifdef HAVE_FFMPEG
        plugin = decoder_plugin_from_name("ffmpeg");
#else
        plugin = decoder_plugin_from_name("mad");
#endif
The NEWS file states:
ver 0.14.2 (2009/02/13)
* configure.ac:
- define HAVE_FFMPEG after all checks
However, even though ./configure does set ENABLE_FFMPEG to 1, HAS_FFMPEG is nowhere to be seen.

Manually setting it does help, but I wonder if I'm missing something.

You're reading an 8 years old NEWS line. That's not "news", that's "olds".
