Re: Some way to force MPD to save state without killing it

If you don't receive a signal before powering off, how is a signal that triggers state file save useful? I'd say: SIGTERM triggers that.

(Don't read the Wiki. It's obsolete because it's full of trash.)

Even SysVInit can do dependencies nowadays, and Ubuntu's old-style init script will do the same. What you describe has nothing to do with systemd.

Re: Where are the MPD-repositories?

So i was convinced, that all programs for Linux provide repositories to be installed from. That would be a big waste of our time. There are hundreds of Linux distributions, and providing repositories for all of them would bind the time of dozens of full-time developers. We do what we can do best: d...

Re: MPD with M2Tech HiFace USB Interface Protocol error

I am running MPD version 0.16.8 . This MPD version is very outdated and unsupported. Please do not ask for help unless you have the latest MPD version, as people may spend time on figuring out a problem that has been solved already years ago. Re: Where are the MPD-repositories?

In your other thread, Ran told you that this Ubuntu repository has nothing to do with this project, but it appears you didn't listen to him. The repository is not maintained (and never was) by anybody involved in MPD. It was never an "official" MPD repository, only made by some random MPD user. Ther...

This feature has not yet been released. If you want it, compile MPD from git master.

Re: linux newbie, can't seem to setup alsa device properly

Try "hw:1,0". "hw:0" is your graphics card (audio via HDMI).

Do not specify "format" unless you know what you're doing. Do not do random things unless you know what they mean.

Re: linux newbie, can't seem to setup alsa device properly

Check the MPD log for the real error message.

Why do you force MPD to use a specifid audio format? That increases CPU usage and reduces the quality.

There are already two HTTP streaming output plugins. What else do you need?
