Re: Queuing system (issues ?)

If a played title is automatically set back to priority 0 Sorry, that was my mistake - I pointed to the protocol documentation of MPD 0.20 (git master). I should have told you to read the protocol documentation shipped with the MPD version you're really using. The last sentence there does not apply...

Re: Queuing system (issues ?)

What MPD version and what commands do you use? Post a verbose log of a minimal example demonstrating the problem.

Re: MPD threads priority

You need to assign a real-time budget to the MPD process, i.e. the "cpu.rt_runtime_us" setting of the "cpu" cgroup.

Re: Playing audio without MPD database on Windows

mpd cannot save files that are not in database to playlists neither can it read file:/// URI from playlist files Please write two bug reports. there are various scripts though floating around to work around it. e.g: http://mpd.wikia.com/wiki/Hack:Mpc-play Is it more fun to hack a script than to wri...

No, I don't care if you do it or not. You are the one who would like to do something or not.

Re: MPD dislikes Alsa mono mixdown

If what you wrote is really true, then MPD crashed before any ALSA specific code was run. It means that your ALSA configuration is irrelevant here. Which means your whole post is bogus.

If you see MPD crashing, stop writing on the forum about it - write a bug report instead, with a backtrace.

Re: Database not being updated on Raspberry Pi

Version 0.16.7 is several years old, and unsupported. Please upgrade before you ask for support. This may be too much trouble for you, but supporting known-to-be-buggy versions is too much trouble for us. And you are asking us for our time.

Re: MPD - without database

If you don't configure a database (in mpd.conf), there will be no database. For this kind of configuration, it does not matter if you disabled this feature at compile time (with ./configure). Disabling it at compile time will only make the binary lighter, because code you don't need will not be pres...

Re: cmdline: No configuration file found

prefix='/usr/local'
sysconfdir='${prefix}/etc'

Which means MPD loads the configuration from /usr/local/etc/mpd.conf by default, not from /etc/mpd.conf (as you may have expected).

Re: MPD Pipe out

The problem is "-f S16_LE -c2 -r44100" - how do you know MPD will copy exactly that format into the pipe? Paste verbose log!
