Re: How to keep radio stream persistent during song changes (from Mpd to Mpd)?

The link I posted asks you to show your log file(s). So I've been waiting for you for a few days to complete your data, but apparently you didn't understand that this is necessary.

Re: MPD serving up to 14 devices at a time

Neither MALP or MPDroid is a music player - they are MPD clients, which means they control MPD playback (i.e. like remote controls), but it's MPD who plays, not the client on your phone/tablet. But you can install MPD on your Android device: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.musicpd ...

Re: MPD serving up to 14 devices at a time

MPD is not a music distribution system - it is a remotely controllable music player. Do not use it for streaming; it can provide streams, but streaming music is full of severe problems (no matter which software you use). My suggestion: make that central server a NFS file server, and run MPD on it (w...

Right.

(Of course, you can send your patch or plain git pull request via email... I'm not forcing anybody to use a commercial non-free website like GitHub.)

Re: supported tags (conductor)

It's pretty easy to implement, look at this commit adding the "Work" tag: https://github.com/MusicPlayerDaemon/MP ... d9ebe81f11

Re: Detect if other clients have sent commands?

You can track MPD's state and you can do explicit client-to-client messages. But you can't detect the actions of other clients directly; you can only detect if another client changed MPD's state. Why is that second script a cron job? Why not a daemon which listens for "idle" events, tracking MPD's s...

Re: Sonos controller

Ok, made a quick and dirty httpd_mixer. Not suitable for public consumption but plays some music in my kitchen. But how to do it right? Handcrafted with love and boost.Asio? Output oder mixer? Or a new controller class for Chromecast, Musicast, Snapcast and Sonos? Kindly asking for advice. If you h...

Re: Sonos controller

I don't see any documentation. The library API is synchronous and thus cannot be integrated in MPD's event loop; this will cause a lot of trouble. And the library creates threads, which is not a good thing for a library to do. I don't like the library.

Re: cue sheet and MPD library?

MPD doesn't handle chapters then. It doesn't know about chapters; this is a feature that would need to be implemented in the first place.

Re: adress in use but netstat | grep 6600 empty

I don't see your configuration. You showed two one-line snippets but I don't know if you used both at the same time or switched from one to the other - you posted just two lines without any context. But since those two lines (obviously) conflict with each others, I don't know if there's a MPD bug or...

Re: Audiophile Discussion of MPD

Much of the discussion centres around how good various versions of MPD sound. Almost all of this discussion is bullshit. My assumption is that someone or a group of people listen to each release before it's released. None of that ever happened. Nobody ever does a listening test before a MPD release...

Re: sync of position inside playlists

It would be possible to write a simple client which copies one instance's state to another instance. But I don't know if such a thing exists. Maybe this would be a useful feature for "mpc".

Re: Mpc update right after a device mount lead me to songs missing problem

The mount process is finished when the command finishes. But that doesn't imply that the database update is finished at the same time, just like regular database updates aren't finished then. To wait for update completion, use `mpc update --wait`. But that has nothing to do with mounting, that's how...

Re: MPD Android plugins?

Of course you can, it's open source! Technically, you don't need that script I linked to, it is just a convenience script to make building for Android easier. You can compile all libraries for Android manually and then use meson/ninja as usual to build MPD for Android. There are more output plugins ...

Re: MPD Android plugins?

No, because anybody may do his own build with his arbitrary choices of plugins.

But these are the libraries I compile for Android prior to building MPD; the according plugins are thus enabled in my MPD/Android builds:

This crash is inside your dynamic linker and has nothing to do with MPD.
