Re: Improve replay sound quality under Debian

Let me nitpick...

1. Your HD and DAC are running on the same USB bus... Not ideal.
2. USB 3.0 is irrelevant for audio.
3. The hiFace devices uses propriatery drivers. Not even USB Audio Class 2.0
4. Get a DAC with a USB input. Why convert USB to S/PDIF?

Re: Giving names to a web stream

Found a solution. Under my playlist directory, I had to create the following file: [Radio Streams].m3u Within the file, I added my web radio channels (streams) in the following format (example): http://wbgo.streamguys.net/#Jazz 88 WBGO (128kbs) where the "#" sign allows me to add a description after...

Giving names to a web stream

I have the following line in a playlist:

http://72.55.137.198:3200

In GMPC, I see the title as:

72.55.137.198

is there a way to rename this? Can I name a stream while leaving the URL intact?

Re: DSD downsampling to 192/24

Read this:

http://www.musicpd.org/doc/user/dsd.html

You will probably need to use "dop" instead of "dsd_usb".

What version of MPD are you running?

Re: MPD, GMPC and NAS

GMPC is not an audio player. It is a remote control for MPD.

Right on! This will give you much more flexibility with tagging and folder structure.

Enjoy the music!

Re: mpd breaks after shutting off external dac

If you create a null output and enable it as well as your DAC, when you turn off you DAC (Why are you doing this in the first place???), MPD will still see the null output and will not crash.

Re: Playlist vs Play directly

In MPDroid, you can click and hold on the file you intend to listen to. From there a menu will allow you to play it directly.

Re: MPD and removable (USB) devices

1. In mpd.conf, set your music directory to something line: /path/to/music Add two directories: /path/to/music/nas (where you store your music) /path/to/music/usbkey (a symlink to the usbkey under /media/usb) Install usbmount: sudo apt-get install usbmount Add the following: mpc -h address.of.mpd up...

Re: How to connect MPC to local MPD via socket

sudo apt-get install libmpdclient2 on Ubuntu 14.10. Before I compile libmpdclient, is there anything needed to configure before pointing mpc to the socket file?

How to connect MPC to local MPD via socket

I have MPD running locally on my Ubuntu laptop. All is running well. GMPC can connect without a problem by using the socket's path. MPC, however, cannot connect. I use the following:

mpc -h /path/to/socket play
