Re: MPD going classical?

I have been using the same configuration for the last month will excellent results. I can also stream from Tidal and Qobuz via Bubble and MPD plays them without a problem.

Re: musicpd database not finding opus files

"musicpd-0.18.23 installed"

You are running an old and unsupported version. In the help page, it is clearly states:

"Make sure you have the latest MPD version".

So, update your version to the latest one and try again.

Re: mpd update error

It does not help. What are you trying to achieve? You can play DSD with MPD even if you do not own a DSD capable DAC.

Re: It`s all about DSD & MPD

If I have a DAC that supports native DSD, how will MPD know to send the DSD stream as is without trying to transcode the data into PCM?

Re: It`s all about DSD & MPD

FYI: dop on - This will enable DoP protocol and will send the DSD data encapsulated inside a PCM container (Some CPU utilization) dop off - This will transcode DSD into PCM by MPD for non DSD enabled DACs (High CPU utilization) #dop - This will send native DSD to a native DSD enabeld DAC It all depe...

Re: Improve replay sound quality under Debian

Where is the benefit of a NAS in this context? First and foremost, redundancy. That is the main thing you should think about. Last I want to experience is all my music gone because of a failed drive. A NAS does not protect against deleted files. A NAS is slow compared to direct-attached storage (SA...

Re: Improve replay sound quality under Debian

Let me nitpick...

1. Your HD and DAC are running on the same USB bus... Not ideal.
2. USB 3.0 is irrelevant for audio.
3. The hiFace devices uses propriatery drivers. Not even USB Audio Class 2.0
4. Get a DAC with a USB input. Why convert USB to S/PDIF?

Re: Giving names to a web stream

Found a solution. Under my playlist directory, I had to create the following file: [Radio Streams].m3u Within the file, I added my web radio channels (streams) in the following format (example): http://wbgo.streamguys.net/#Jazz 88 WBGO (128kbs) where the "#" sign allows me to add a description after...

Giving names to a web stream

I have the following line in a playlist:

http://72.55.137.198:3200

In GMPC, I see the title as:

72.55.137.198

is there a way to rename this? Can I name a stream while leaving the URL intact?

MPD 0.19.10

Re: DSD downsampling to 192/24

Read this:

http://www.musicpd.org/doc/user/dsd.html

You will probably need to use "dop" instead of "dsd_usb".

What version of MPD are you running?

Re: MPD, GMPC and NAS

GMPC is not an audio player. It is a remote control for MPD.
