Re: Feature Question

Not true. You can do the following:

1. Mount a directory within your path
2. Symlink a directory within your path
3. Add a folder dynamically when inserting a USB drive

What is it you are trying to do?

Re: Permission issue with MPC

Try to specify the server when passing an argument to mpc:

mpc -h ip.of.your.server update

example:

mpc -h 192.168.1.10 update

Pre-fetch album covers

Currently, I have to scroll down in order to invoke album cover search. Only when I scroll down, GMPC will attempt to fetch covers for the next row (four each). Is there a way to pre-fetch all the covers without having to scroll row by row?

Thanks!

Re: Duplicated entries under Album View

That is not what I am saying. There is a difference between the way music is presented. Database - mirrors the folder structure as they are presented in the filesystem. Album View - mirrors the albums as they are represented in their tag unless I am missing something, these are two different ways. Y...

Re: Duplicated entries under Album View

No, this is how MPD presents the metadata. If gmpc gets a song with multiple tags for one field it can concatenate them. However If it requests a list of album tags it cannot see they belong together. My point is that the behavior under "Album View" is different than "Database". It would be nice if...

Re: Duplicated entries under Album View

Gmpc does no splitting. This looks like you have multiple album tags on one file. Can you check this? Correct. But very puzzling. Under "Database", when looking at the folders, this is exactly like the file system view but under "album View" it seams that the GMPC creates the views from the tags. I...

Duplicated entries under Album View

I have an album under the following folder structure: Artist Name - Album Name Under Album View I can see the album and the corresponding artwork without a problem. But, if I have the following: Artist Name - Album - Name Then I see the album twice: Artist Name - Album Artist Name - Name I believe t...

Re: How-to Auto Scan and Update USB flash Drive

Got it. I made this work but instead of using a Udev rule, I added the parameters to the usbmount scripts. I use Ubuntu headless server and it works great and fast! Thanks for the suggestions.

Re: How-to Auto Scan and Update USB flash Drive

OK, but how can I tell MPD to run the update ONLY on the new inserted USB drive? I have around 4TB of music which takes around 5 minutes for the update process to complete.

How-to Auto Scan and Update USB flash Drive

MPD 16.5 / Ubuntu Server 12.04.2 MPD works without a problem. I have a NAS mounted at boot where all the music is stored. When friends come overs, they bring their music on a USB drive. In order to play those files, I have to do the following: 1. Copy the files to the NAS from my laptop 2. Run "Upda...
