Re: Is Aurender using MPD?

More indications they are probably using MPD and selling it as their own:

no more HTTP streaming from LMS in 0.19.2 ?

1. HTTP issues with 0.19.0 and 0.19.1 Since 0.19.0 and 0.19.1, there were some FLAC streaming issues not present in 0.18.X, which could be mitigated by changing the DecoderList.cxx file: http://forum.musicpd.org/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=338 It still gave warnings with FFMPEG as decoder, like there were s...

mpdroid is being pulled from google play store :(

When mpdroid was updated, a message appeared with this link: http://nlss.fr/mpdroid/ It seems google has pulled them due to some copyright issue, but without any real possibility for the dev to defend himself. This is really a shame for google. mpdroid was a good client, except for the lacking auto ...

Re: unstable HTTP streaming

1/ In order to use ffmpeg instead of libflac, I changed the priority of decoders in DecoderList.cxx to put ffmpeg before flac. Without the change in CurlInput to prefill buffer, it works perfectly fine.... If I don't find the solution with libflac, this is an acceptable workaround... for me. I just...

Re: ffmpeg compile issues with mpd 0.19

Just upgraded ffmpeg to the version that was in vb 2.2 beta's repo, now it builds rpm -Uvvh http://yum.vortexbox.org/releases/16/i386/beta/RPMS/ffmpeg-2.1.4-1.1.fc16.i686.rpm http://yum.vortexbox.org/releases/16/i386/beta/RPMS/ffmpeg-devel-2.1.4-1.1.fc16.i686.rpm http://yum.vortexbox.org/releases/16...

Re: unstable HTTP streaming

To be sure the FLAC issue from an LMS stream is not already present in 0.18.X, just compiled 0.18.16. 0.18.16 -> no issues with flac streaming: 0.19.1 -> crc mismatch & lost sync issues: flac: FLAC__STREAM_DECODER_ERROR_STATUS_FRAME_CRC_MISMATCH flac: FLAC__STREAM_DECODER_ERROR_STATUS_LOST_SYNC Buil...

[SOLVED]mpd 0.19 no longer compatible with vortexbox-player?

We build a solution based on vb2.2 Over the months, we went from mpd 0.17.4 (latest vb2.2 package) to 0.18.13 (which increased the sound quality using identical mpd.conf) and since recently 0.19.1 which augmented the playback quality again. This is quite remarkable as our base libraries are the same...

Re: unstable HTTP streaming

I have something very similar when using vortexbox-player + mpd 0.19.X It was never present up to 0.18.13 which is the last 0.18.X I've compiled for vortexbox 2.2 0.19.1 [vortexbox.localdomain vortexbox]# mpd --version |head -1 Music Player Daemon 0.19.1 [vortexbox.localdomain vortexbox]# mpd --stdo...

Re: sox resampling in mpd manual but not in source

Just wrote a patch to test SOXR_VHQ vs SOXR_LSR0Q sox recipes. 1. SOXR_VHQ samplerate_converter "soxr very high" [evo.localdomain shootout]# mpd --stdout --no-daemon --verbose /etc/vortexbox-player/mpd0.conf-soxr-very-high config_file: loading file /etc/vortexbox-player/mpd0.conf-soxr-very-high serv...

Re: sox resampling in mpd manual but not in source

While looking at the pcm/SoxrResampler.cxx, it seems the standard sox recipes are used: // converter example is "soxr very high", we want the "very high" part const char *quality = converter + 5; if (strcmp(quality, "very high") == 0) soxr_quality_recipe = SOXR_VHQ; else if (strcmp(quality, "high") ...

[SOLVED] ffmpeg compile issues with mpd 0.19

When trying to compile 0.19 on vortexbox 2.2 (fedora 16), there's a compile error against ffmpeg: In file included from /usr/include/libavutil/common.h:349:0, from /usr/include/libavutil/avutil.h:328, from /usr/include/libavutil/error.h:28, from src/lib/ffmpeg/Error.cxx:26: /usr/include/libavutil/me...

Re: sox resampling in mpd manual but not in source

Thanks for sox support in the 0.19 release "soxr very high" vs "Medium Sinc Interpolator" sounds the same (on a very expensive system where I do all my DSP testing), but at 1/5 of the cpu load (now at 10% of one cpu core), so I'm very happy with the result. Secret rabbit code was never very fast in ...

Re: Is Aurender using MPD?

Furthermore, this French post is implying Aurender is violating the GPL: That French guy is wrong. First of all, just to clarify (to be exact): you cannot violate the GPL, but you can only violate copyright law. The GPL is what gives you permission to do things that would not be allowed according t...

Is Aurender using MPD?

I noticed the apple gui of the linux based aurender music server has some typical mpd alike controls. I also discovered the firm behind Aurender, TV-logic, has made a fork of mpd: https://github.com/aurender/mpd-upnp They mention "Customized Linux OS for the best audio performance" http://aurender.w...

sox resampling in mpd manual but not in source

In the manual I found some options for resampling in MPD using soxr: http://www.musicpd.org/doc/user/ch03s09.html#idp52573840 "soxr very high" Use libsoxr with "Very High Quality" setting. "soxr high" or "soxr" Use libsoxr with "High Quality" setting. "soxr medium" Use libsoxr with "Medium Quality" ...
