Some MacOS and iOS clients you may want to add to the clients page

There's an mpd client called Rigelian, which is available for iOS and MacOS.

Not free or open source, but a pretty good option.

The subscription price is $3.49/year and unlocks all the features on both platforms.

My only affiliation with the app is that I use it.

I have mpd running on a Raspberry pi with a USB JDS Labs OL-DAC. I'm trying to set it up for bit-perfect output. Here is what is in my mpd.comf for my hardware: audio_output { type "alsa" name "My ALSA Device" device "hw:1,0" # optional mixer_type "disabled" # optional # mixer_device "default" # opt...

Re: mpd configuration on macOS

Nope, that doesn't work. This is the only thing I have gotten to work:

Code: Select all

audio_output {
  type	"osx"
  name	"CoreAudio"
  mixer_type	"hardware"
}
I don't know if that config will give me bit-perfect output.

Re: mpd configuration on macOS

That not work. Picking CoreAudio seems to be the only option that works.

mpd configuration on macOS

I installed mpd via brew on macOS 10.15.6. I have an SDAC configured via USB and was trying to see if I could get bit-perfect output on the SDAC, but the only output configuration I can get to work for output is this: audio_output { type "osx" name "CoreAudio" mixer_type "software" } When I look at ...

Can someoone recommend a good docker container for m

My main mpd server is on an Ubuntu 18.04 server and is version 0.20.18. I have been unable to find a ppa for mpd that will allow me to update to the latest and greatest, so I thought I would run it in a docker container, since I already have docker setup and running. Can anyone recommend a docker co...

Excellent!

Can this be added to the documentation, or is it already there and I missed it?

What happens when you issue an 'mpc update' from a satellite

If I issue an 'mpc update' command from a laptop running mpd in satellite mode, does it send the update request to the proxy mpd server, or will I need to ssh into that server and issues the command from the console there?

Are there known issues with mpd and foreign character sets?

I have a bunch of albums from the anime Cowboy Bebop that the program beets tagged with Japanese characters in the artist name. These are the only albums that give me a decoding error. If this is a known limitation, I will leave it alone. If it's a bug, I'll be happy to file a bug report if so reque...

Re: Browsing by Metadata only shows my FLAC files

OK, assuming this was an issue with the way mpd was compiled for Arch Linux, I downloaded a source tarball from this site and compiled it myself. The version I compiled gave me the extact same issue, with no files that use ID3 tags being displayed in the metadata section of GMPC. Then someone on the...

Browsing by Metadata only shows my FLAC files

I'm having an odd problem with mpd not displaying any of my mp3 files when browsing by metadata. I can only see my FLAC files.

Browsing by database shows me everything, and everything plays just fine.

Anyone else ever see this?
