elapsed time on status not updating?

I'm running 21.4 on Ubuntu 19.04. When connected to MPD using telnet, I issue a STATUS cmd and receive this: status volume: 90 repeat: 1 random: 1 single: 0 consume: 0 playlist: 4 playlistlength: 50 mixrampdb: -3.000000 state: play xfade: 5 mixrampdelay: 1.500000 song: 15 songid: 24 time: 69:276 ela...

Toggle volume_normalization via command rather than config?

I've looked through the 'commands' response and the docs. and didn't see anything obvious to set the 'volume_normalization' option during playback.

Am I correct in thinking that this is only configurable via mpd.conf (and therefore requires a restart to affect changes)?

Thx.

Re: Database proxy plugin not available?

I manually manipulated the Makefile a bit to get it to compile in the proxy database plug in and it shows as available: Music Player Daemon 0.20 (v0.19.19-1214-gd0dae17) Copyright (C) 2003-2007 Warren Dukes <warren.dukes@gmail.com> Copyright (C) 2008-2015 Max Kellermann <max@duempel.org> This is fre...

Database proxy plugin not available?

What libraries are required for the database proxy plugin? I'm compiling from source and it is not available: Music Player Daemon 0.20 (v0.19.19-1214-gd0dae17) Copyright (C) 2003-2007 Warren Dukes <warren.dukes@gmail.com> Copyright (C) 2008-2015 Max Kellermann <max@duempel.org> This is free software...

Playlist load stops on missing files?

I'm running 0.20 (v0.19.14-986-g91afc7b) built from source on Ubuntu. When I load a playlist (via 'load' command within MPD) the load stops on the first missing file and exists with a 'ACK - NO SUCH SONG' message. This is inconsistent with previous versions in that MPD would simply skip the missing ...

iNotify event trigger

I often add tracks to the music directory via an FTP download process. Depending on available bandwidth it can take several dozen seconds for the download to complete for a given file. At what point does iNotify inform MPD that the contents of the music directory has changed? I'm concerned that MPD ...

Re: Crossfade of mp3 with MPG123 vs MAD

Thanks for the reply Max. Your statement does not match my experience. I am neither hearing a crossfade, nor seeing any indication of it in the log when using anything other than the MAD decoder. I am currently using v20 with the FFMPEG decoder on Ubuntu 14.10. Here is my current compile settings: ....

Re: Crossfade of mp3 with MPG123 vs MAD

I've now also tried it w/ FFMPEG (while disabling MAD and MPG123 via configure options). No cross fades.

Am I correct in saying that only the MAD decoder can perform crossfades with mixramp?

Thanks.

Re: MPD not playing audio over network.

I believe that the Pi defaults to sending audio out the HDMI port. There is a way to force it out the analog output but I don't have the commands handy. "Google is your friend."

Re: Crossfade of streaming output?

Sorry, that is not an option. I'm guessing that the SHOUT output plugin does not support crossfades. Can anyone confirm that?

Thanks.

Crossfade of mp3 with MPG123 vs MAD

I've built v20 from GIT sources using the libmad MP3 decoder and mixramp based crossfades are working as expected. However, when I switch to the MPG123 based decoder I get no crossfading at all. My build options are: ./configure --enable-alsa --disable-pulse --disable-oss --disable-mad --enable-flac...

What is the 'prefered' ID3 tag version for MPD?

I'm having a specific problem with MPD not loading genre values regardless of ID3 tag version; I've tried v1, 2.3, 2.4 and no joy with either on MPD v18 or v19 branches. Artist/track/release info. is parsed just fine. Before I file a bug report I wanted to give it one more go with the 'prefered' ID3...

Re: Name of Playlist currently playing

I would write the name of the playlist to a known text file and then parse it for changes. Also, you could just look for the file and if you find it you know the list has changed and then delete the file.

Crossfade of streaming output?

I am running MPD v0.18.10 and generating a MP3 stream to an Icecast server using the SHOUT output. It runs fine generally, however I can't seem to get the tracks to crossfade at all. - All tracks are CBR MP3 - I am issuing a 'crossfade 5' command to MPD - audio_buffer is set to 4096 Any hints? Thank...
